Recorded in January:
Three FIAT 126s (from Broniewskiego, Cieszkowskiego and Spokojna Streets) and three MERCEDES cars (from Królowej Jadwigi Street, the car park in front of the “Oleńka” bar in Brzeźnik and the premises of a repair workshop) were stolen and taken away;
Cars were broken into and robbed of, among other things, a video camera, car radios, a seat and a fire extinguisher;
Break-ins involving theft were committed at Primary School No. 10, the joinery workshop of the “Sława” plant, the “Stańczyk” bar, a department store, the “Leśna” restaurant in Ławszowa and a shop on Mickiewicza Street;
During a break-in, the police detained two perpetrators attempting to break into a butcher’s shop, as well as one perpetrator who, after breaking into a car, attempted to flee with a car radio;
A Fiat 126 P ran over a man lying on Lubańska Street. As a result of his injuries, the man died in hospital.
Recorded in February:
The following were stolen to the detriment of the Energy Utility: 400 metres of aluminium electrical-conductor cable in the Golnie area and approximately 500 metres of the same cable from a dismantled line between Strachów and Swiętoszów;
After the water was pumped out, the body of a previously missing man was found at the bottom of a well in Nowogrodziec. A cap floating on the surface of the water in the well led investigators to the discovery;
The following cars were stolen and taken away: a LADA (from Orla Street), a BMW 750 (from the car park of the “Słoneczna” restaurant) and a MERCEDES (from Staszica Street);
Police officers caught a man red-handed stealing from cars by breaking into them on Starzyńskiego Street; he lived near the car park;
The police also detained and placed in custody the perpetrators of a break-in and theft at a shop on Łukasiewicza Street. The perpetrators had just begun tasting the stolen alcohol. Other goods worth more than 3 million złotys were recovered, partly before they had been consumed.
