It is worth noting the good performance of Bolesławiec competitors at the 2nd National Junior Under-16 Ranking Tournament in Badminton, in Słupsk.
Jolanta Walczak performed best, winning two of her three matches. Jolanta Wieczorek and Marcin Kiciński each recorded one victory. The winner of the 2nd regional tournament, Dorota Dziuba, did not travel to the competition due to a lack of funds. The aforementioned three travelled to the competition at their parents’ expense.
In Słupsk, 98 male and female competitors took part in the singles events, and only our children participated using their parents’ money. The TKKF "Nowe Śródmieście" sports association in Bolesławiec wrote to the Physical Culture Commission of the Municipal Council on 14 September of this year, and has not received a response to date. We believe that in Bolesławiec the city should provide talented young people with the basic conditions needed to practise sport. I stress that our junior badminton section is registered with the Polish Badminton Association, and competitors entered by TKKF "Nowe Śródmieście" have the right to participate in national competitions after qualifying at the Lower Silesian Macroregion regional competitions. Here is the Polish Badminton Association calendar of Junior Under-16 competitions for the second half of the 1993/94 season: 12 February, Bolesławiec: regional ranking tournament qualifying for the National Junior Under-16 Ranking Tournament, which will be held in Płock (18–20 February 1994). 5 March, Bolesławiec: regional qualifying competition for the Individual Polish Championships, which will be held in Rzeszów on 22–24 April.
