Yes. One of my campaign slogans was: vote for the dark horse of this election. And they did. But Ewa was wrong when she wrote that the entire student community of the Lyceum had expected this. We—that is, my campaign team and I—did not expect such an enormous victory.
We had a great time organizing our entire show.
Postering the school with photographs of me—styled like a crime series—in the opinion of the experts on my campaign team was not enough to win. So we decided to “bribe” the voters. We printed a promotional newsletter, which our class (II humanities) intends to publish regularly anyway, and handed it out to students in the corridor. The final move was for voters to meet the candidate in person. We made a lectern out of planks and, during the long break on the day before the election, I delivered a speech. My extremely engaging speech concerned pre-election promises, our entire program, and promoted the acting achievements of II b. The whole thing, enhanced by splendid gesticulation, provoked a storm of applause, especially from class IV a (Thank you!). So—it worked. My name was more than 100 votes ahead of those of the other candidates.
A new student council has now been formed, consisting of seven people. I am the chairwoman; Anka Czarcińska (II c) is the deputy; Marta Lembryk (I c) is the secretary; and the cultural and order section consists of Paulina Polityło (II a), the section head, as well as Beata Wrzeszcz (II d), Małgosia Paszko (III d), and the only boy—and at the same time the only member of the old council—Jacek Ciszewski. The election campaign was effective. It ensured that my campaign team got its person into the office. Now class II d can, through me, direct those in power.
The main aim of our activities is to invigorate the school’s cultural life.
And I am proud of my campaign team. I would especially like to thank several people:
Patrycja Proć, Dorota Drozdek, Aneta Kobylak, Ania Błachnia, Ewa Lipińska, Łukasz Orsa, Grzesio Podruczny, Rysio Łach, and the entire class IV a.
Thank you all
I Was the Dark Horse
