During the Christmas clean-up, we often do not know what to do with unused clothes, items and toys.
We take dolls, teddy bears and toys that our children once played with down to the basement or up to the attic, stuff unworn clothes into a bag, and throw out furniture and equipment because we have just bought something newer. Meanwhile, many less affluent families may not have the money to buy a teddy bear, doll, sweater or jacket. Someone might also find a use for equipment we have thrown out or some of the furniture we are replacing. The Polish Social Welfare Committee, together with the Bolesławiec Enthusiasts’ Association and the Friends of Children Association, warmly ask kind-hearted residents of Bolesławiec and the surrounding area to donate useless toys, clean and undamaged clothing, household equipment and furniture to PKPS (9 Komuny Paryskiej Street, tel. 25-83). The Social Welfare Committee operates on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., but it is also possible to arrange a more convenient day and time by telephone; for heavier items (furniture, equipment), PKPS can come to the site and collect the donated items.
So before we sit down at the Christmas table, let us think of others and open our hearts. Perhaps thanks to us, someone will have a more joyful Christmas.
