The most important trace left behind by every person’s life is the good they did for others. Those who come after can express their gratitude by cherishing the memory of those who have passed away.
Since 1968, the Helena and Wincenty Tyrankiewicz Scholarship has been awarded each year at I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Wł. Broniewskiego in Bolesławiec to the most talented students and graduates—great educators who years ago helped create the Bolesławiec secondary school.
It is no exaggeration to say that their complete dedication to working with young people made an invaluable contribution to the intellectual and personal development of numerous groups of students from several generations. By passing on to young people all the material wealth they had accumulated throughout their lives, they extended the fulfillment of their consciously chosen life mission for years to come—even after their lives had ended, they continued to provide financial assistance. At the beginning of 1990, rampant inflation threatened the existence of the scholarship fund; the account balance was then approximately 400,000 złoty. Today, the scholarship fund amounts to approximately 60 million złoty accumulated in the account of the school’s Parents’ Committee thanks to the generosity of Bolesławiec workplaces and private individuals. Each year, scholarships are paid from the interest on the accumulated fixed-term deposits. There are many scholarship candidates, because many talented young people leave our school each year.
In the current school year, on the occasion of National Education Day, at the request of the Teachers’ Council, the Parents’ Committee, administrator of the scholarship fund, awarded five scholarships of 2 million złoty each to outstanding students and graduates of the school:
1. Anna Muszyńska
2. Ewa Muszyńska
3. Alicja Domagała
4. Anna Drozdek
5. Anna Guzik
To date, 72 students and graduates of the school have received the scholarship.
The Parents’ Committee and the Headteacher’s Office of I Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Wł. Broniewskiego in Bolesławiec ask for support for the school’s Helena and Wincenty Tyrankiewicz Scholarship Fund.
We appeal to everyone who can—and, above all, wants to—help the school and its students, especially those with exceptional abilities.
If you believe that the idea of the scholarship is worthy of continuation, please provide financial support.
