If budget funds allow, the Bolesławiec municipality should resolve the problems associated with supplying the villages with a water network within the next 2–3 years.
The village water-supply programme created years ago is being implemented consistently and persistently.
The goodwill and financial assistance of the Jelenia Góra Voivode and the Voivodeship Board for Land Reclamation and Water Facilities in Lwówek Śląski are also important in these efforts. The village water-supply programme has also received the full support of the Municipal Council.
At the Municipal Council session on 14 October this year, councillors approved the Municipal Head’s proposal to begin supplying the village of Dobra with water already this year. In accordance with earlier plans, Dobra will be connected to the Bolesławiec municipal water-supply network in the area of the Kwiatowe housing estate. Under an agreement between the Town and Municipality Board, the rural Bolesławiec municipality is contributing PLN 500 million to the construction of the main pipeline running from the water intake station in Rakowice to Wojska Polskiego Street, in return obtaining the possibility of connecting Dobra to the town’s water-supply network. This demonstrates the smoothly developing cooperation between the local governments concerned for the benefit of their residents.
If everything goes well, approximately 80 consumers in Dobra will have tap water by the end of the first half of next year. At the end of October this year, a contractor for the construction of approximately 5 km of transmission and distribution water-supply network will be selected through a tender. Residents will construct the connections to the buildings at their own expense and on their own initiative. If all residents agree, the contractor may have the opportunity to build the connections to the buildings at a negotiated flat rate per connection. This would be cheaper and faster, which is why we are putting this proposal before the residents for consideration. It is worth the effort.
The residents of Dobra will not be the only ones enjoying water from their taps. The residents of Trzebień, Trzebień Mały, Parkoszów and Golnice also have a similar opportunity. Provided they receive the councillors’ support when next year’s municipal budget is drawn up, and provided there is enough money, we will no longer have to fear drying wells.
In the second half of this year, work began on two investment projects.
The gasification of Łaziska is being carried out in two stages. Stage I involves constructing 2 km of medium-pressure gas pipeline on the Bolesławiec–Kruszyn route, together with a second-stage reduction and metering station. The completion deadline is 31 December this year. Stage II involves constructing a medium-pressure transmission network on the Kruszyn–Łaziska route, with a total length of approximately 7 km, by 31 March 1994.
The coordinating investor for the project is the Gasworks in Zgorzelec, which is preparing the investment in organisational and technical terms and, together with the Municipal Board, supervising its implementation.
The implementation costs were divided between the parties according to the terms negotiated in the agreement. The contractor for Stages I and II is Przedsiębiorstwo "POLTECH" in Jelenia Góra, selected through a tender. The Łaziska Village Gasification Social Committee declared its participation in Stage II and will finance the entire cost of the connections to the buildings.
On 5 October this year, a tender was held to select a contractor for the gymnasium at the Primary School in Dąbrowa. Six bidders from Bolesławiec, Zielona Góra, Nowogrodziec and Lubin took part. From among them, the Tender Committee selected ALPO of Zielona Góra to carry out the project. The company offered a price of PLN 3.4 billion, a completion period ending on 30 May 1994 and a three-year warranty period.
The technical documentation for the construction of the gymnasium was prepared by the Historic Monuments Conservation Studios in Wrocław. The project includes constructing a sports hall with a boiler room, including connecting the new building to the existing school building.
The project won the approval of both the teachers and the pupils of the school.
