The Society of Friends of Children, as in previous years, took care of the summer holiday отдых for children from low-income families. A total of 216 children stayed at camps in Brenno and Lubawka, while 72 children and young people attended a camp, also in Brenno. Children of low-income parents paid only 500,000 zł for a three-week session; the full cost was 2 million zł.
With money raised from a raffle organized by TPD and thanks to the kindness of sponsors, nine children were able to attend the camp completely free of charge. The Municipal Social Welfare Committee also provided free отдых for 52 children and subsidized or fully financed the stay of a group of youngsters at a day camp organized at II LO in Bolesławiec. The ZW TPD in Jelenia Góra also helped provide children with summer отдыха by contributing 330 million złoty.
During the day camp, the Society of Friends of Children encountered enormous understanding of its needs and the warm-hearted support of people who clearly love children. Through “Głos Bolesławca,” TPD instructor Jadwiga Bobek wishes to thank the President of OSM for the daily delivery of dairy products; the President of GS for bread and rolls; the Director of MZK for free transport for children from the poorest families; the Director of MOSiR for making the swimming pool available; the Director of ZOZ for assigning a nurse; and the Director of II LO for permission to organize the day camp at the school facility.
