ONCE AGAIN ABOUT THE FABIAN PHARMACY
In response to our editorial note “Without Kindness at Fabian’s,” a letter signed by Ms Aleksandra Sowińska-Pawlica, MSc, was submitted to the editorial office; we publish it in full.
“In reference to the text “Without Kindness at Fabian’s,” which appeared in the “letters to the editor” column, albeit without a reader’s signature—which is difficult to call a letter—or any other signature, I wish to inform you that it contains information inconsistent with the truth, and this cannot be passed over in silence. The alleged Ms Elżbieta Stańczuk never bought a blood-pressure monitor at the Fabian Pharmacy, so she could not have complained about it or demanded a refund in cash!
The purchase was made by an entirely different person, who confirmed this in writing and submitted the item for a complaint. The pharmaceutical wholesaler handled it in the most appropriate manner possible. Importantly, that person did not submit any complaint on this matter to the editorial office of “Głos Bolesławca,” confirming this in a written statement filed at the pharmacy!
As a pharmacist, unlike “fu,” I have nothing to be ashamed of, because not only kindness but, above all, honesty would not have allowed me to sell a used and repaired blood-pressure monitor to another seriously ill patient—and all the more so because of the name of such a distinguished patron of the pharmacy.
Before estimating the pharmacy’s turnover, I suggest that the editorial office determine its own financial contribution to the treatment costs of the residents of Bolesławiec and the surrounding area. Every day, the Fabian Pharmacy, like others, dispenses patients’ essential medicines regardless of their price, then waiting for the promised reimbursement from the state budget. And would “fu” agree to go without a salary—or perhaps a pension—for two, three or four months?
In conclusion, the aforementioned text, undoubtedly an attempt—desperate at that—to increase the periodical’s readership, is a deliberate and completely unjustified action directed against the pharmacy; in particular, the inclusion of false information is already subject to a specific classification in legal terminology (which is guided above all by the reliability of information and a lack of bias in its presentation!).
I regret that a “fledgling scribbler” has crept into the editorial office of “Głos Bolesławca,” attempting to shape the opinions of the city’s residents. It is high time to seek the advice of professional journalists!!!
The fact that the editorial office receives no remuneration for the published materials does not release it from responsibility for the content it conveys, and therefore I demand an explanation of the accusations directed against me!
The aforementioned documentation is available for inspection at the pharmacy. Unlike “fu,” I am not ashamed to sign my own words.
