BOLESŁAWIEC DAYS were, among other things, a wonderful opportunity to discover new talents hidden in various corners of Bolesławiec and the surrounding area. Competitions, showcases and other events not only diversified the otherwise dull lives of Bolesławiec residents, but also allowed them to meet talented young people. Perhaps not the most important, but certainly very interesting, was the showcase of “garage” bands, held on 23 May this year. Four bands took part. The group called HEGEMON (Greek: hegemon = leader) won. The band has five members: Dominik Rytwiński (guitar and vocals), Krzysztof Michaluk (guitar, vocals), Bogdan Fuławka (keyboard instruments), Mariusz Bronowicki (drums) and Witold Trusiewicz (bass). The band has existed for nine months. It was founded by Dominik and Krzysiek, who are also the authors of the lyrics and music. About 14 songs have come from their pens. They took their “first musical steps” at the Youth Cultural Centre. Now, thanks to winning the showcase, they have joined the select company of bands from the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre, where they will practise alongside groups such as OBSTAWA PREZYDENTA, BRUNO WĄTPLIWY, TNT, BLUES BEER, STAN REGAN and others.
