Recorded at a meeting with councillors on 31 May 1993.
In letters to the editorial office, readers ask why the pond between Kubika Street and Bankoxva Street is not a pond, but a weed-covered hollow. This question was also asked at a meeting with councillors at the “Pegaz” club on 31 May this year. Mayor J. Król explained: filling the pond is very costly and, at the same time, ineffective, because the water “escapes”—it drains away and is absorbed by the ground. Even directing water from the so-called “mill race” produces no result.
The pond bottom needs to be sealed with foil or clay, which is cheaper. The city authorities intend to resolve the pond problem.
