One of the questions raised at the meeting with the councillors at the “Pegaz” Club concerned the new pavements on Prusa Street, the redevelopment of the market square, façades, and so on. People asked whether the city could afford these projects.
Mr President replied that renovating the representative part of the city, including the town hall, had been necessary, and that the entire undertaking was within the budgetary framework. The work is being carried out by companies that won the tenders, meaning they submitted the offers most advantageous to the city. The colourful paving blocks laid in place of the old, worn-out pavements not only improve the appearance of the streets but, above all, are more durable and practical in the event of access to the sewer system being needed; however, this requires time and money. For now, we will have to make do with a “boat” without water.
The first results on Prusa Street are already visible. Other streets adjacent to the market square will change their appearance by next year. The existing paving around the town hall will not be replaced, but it must be relaid
