A fundraising campaign is under way to purchase a Doppler echocardiography ultrasound scanner. In addition to the large number of individual donations, among which one can spot contributions from residents of nearby villages and towns and even a donation from abroad, the initiatives and efforts of school students deserve special recognition.
We previously wrote about a donation of more than one million złotys from Primary School No. 1 and a similar donation from School No. 4. Today, we are pleased to present donations from Primary School No. 5 (more than one million), the Student Council of the Complex of Trade and Service Schools (also more than one million), and a donation from class II b of Primary School No. 2 (115,000 złotys). One would like to exclaim, following Owsiak: you are wonderful. Siema! And now, a few examples of gifts of the heart from adults: Warta Bolesławiecka Municipal Office – 25 million złotys; “Stalbet” Company – 10 million złotys; employees of the “Konrad” Mining Works – more than 7 million złotys; the District Dairy Cooperative – 5 million złotys. “Solidarity” from Wizów, the Manufacturing Cooperative, employees of the Ceramic Tile Plant in Przyborsko, the Railway Police Station, ZWM “Konstal,” WKU employees, employees of Public Kindergarten No. 7, city councillors during the proceedings of the 31st Session, employees of the Customs Office in Bolesławiec, employees of the “Prohan” Wholesale Warehouse, employees of the Economic Department of the Municipal Office, the “Panda” Video Cassette Rental, and the “Kontrakt” Law Office also collected and donated a great deal of money.

THE BALANCE OF THE CARDIAC ULTRASOUND ACCOUNT AS OF 22 FEBRUARY 1993 WAS 89,282,000 ZŁOTYS!
On this occasion, a correction: during a conversation between the Mayor of the City, engineer Józef Król, and MSc Eng. B. Pieliński on the subject of ultrasound on the local Bolesławiec Television programme, the Mayor said that our hospital had such a device, but that the purchase concerned a more modern one. Perhaps the Mayor does not know this, but our hospital does not have such a device, as the hospital itself can confirm. The hospital has an ECG, and that is not the same thing.
Our campaign concerns a DOPPLER CARDIAC ULTRASOUND SCANNER, that is, an echocardiograph.
