At the end of September 1992, in the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship, the largest number of unemployed people in relation to the economically active population was recorded in the Bolesławiec area: 9,597 people (4,608 in Bolesławiec itself). At the same time, the number of job offers in our area fell. The number of unemployed people per job offer was 282 (the lowest in the voivodeship). In Bolesławiec, more than 200 unemployed people were competing for each job.
As of 1 December of that year, 800 people in our city had lost their unemployment benefits.
