On the night of 17 April, a police patrol caught a man red-handed committing a burglary at a grocery store on Łukasiewicza Street in Bolesławiec. He had been gathering food products to carry away;
On 20 April, the emergency medical service in Bolesławiec notified the District Police Headquarters of pedestrians being hit in Nowogrodziec. One died at the scene, while the other, in serious condition, is in hospital. Investigative proceedings established that the man in hospital, while intoxicated, had been riding a motorcycle that struck a pedestrian, causing his death;
On the afternoon of 20 April in Bolesławiec, an argument broke out during a drinking session in a private apartment, as a result of which the host stabbed his guest with a knife. The injured man was taken to hospital; on the night of 20/21 April, a police patrol caught red-handed the perpetrator of a break-in to a FORD car parked on Królowej Jadwigi Street in Bolesławiec. He is a resident of Bolesławiec;
On 21 April, the District Police Headquarters was notified of the theft, between 11 and 21 April of this year, of 400 litres of petrol from a "Drobud" dispenser in Bolesławiec. The losses amounted to PLN 2.5 million;
On 23 April, unknown perpetrators broke into the WCH shop in Bolesławiec, taking alcohol and chocolate products worth PLN 14 million;
On 23 April, the owner of a grocery store in Dąbrowa notified the District Police Headquarters of a break-in that had occurred during the night. After breaking padlocks and smashing windows, unknown perpetrators took confectionery, alcoholic products and other goods worth PLN 12 million;
On 24 April, a serious road accident occurred on the A-12 road. During an improper overtaking manoeuvre, the driver of an OPEL forced the driver of a TOYOTA to turn suddenly, causing the TOYOTA to leave the road and then roll over. The TOYOTA passenger died in hospital in Bolesławiec as a result of her injuries. The TOYOTA was destroyed, causing losses of PLN 80 million;
On 25 April, several residents of Przejęsław attempted to poach fish on the Kwisa River using electric current. As a result of inattention, one of the poachers was electrocuted and died at the scene;
On 26 April, the receptionist at the "Piast" Hotel notified the local District Police Headquarters that a hotel guest, a German citizen, had attempted suicide by shooting himself in the head. The injured man’s life is not in danger;
On 28 April, the "Barburka" shop was broken into. As a result of police action, the perpetrators were arrested and the entire haul, worth PLN 40 million, was recovered;
Recently, a series of thefts of power and telephone cables has been committed. These thefts take place in unguarded areas. The increase in these thefts is caused by the ease of selling the loot at numerous scrap collection points, which often fail to keep proper records;
In view of the approaching holiday period, the police ask residents to properly secure their homes against the numerous break-ins that occur during this time. Apart from locks, the best form of security is the help of neighbours, who can be informed about trips and asked to keep an eye on an unoccupied home
