In September this year, two bitumen-surfaced roads were opened in our area:
-Tomisław Mały – Tomisław – a road 1,270 m long
-Parowa – Parowa Długokąty – a road 1,310 m long. This significantly improved access to the aforementioned localities. The renovation was made possible thanks to financial resources obtained from the municipal budget, the European Fund for the Development of Polish Rural Areas and the Voivodeship Fund for the Reclamation of Agricultural Land.
The modernisation of municipal roads is currently under way in Ławszowa. It concerns approximately 1,500 m of road. The works are expected to be completed in October 1996.
The voivodeship road—from the motorway through Świętoszów to Rudawica—was also renovated in our area, covering a total of 11 km. Work on constructing the road shoulders is currently under way along this road.
At the Osiecznica Municipal Office, at the request of councillors and the Municipal Board, Telekomunikacja Polska installed a telephone booth—the first in our municipality. We are observing considerable interest in and use of the installed telephone. We hope that the revenue it generates will lead Telekomunikacja to install more such telephones in our municipality.
The construction of the water-supply network in Ławszowa was completed in August. A total of 118 connections were made, supplied from the water intake in Przejęsław. Preparatory work is currently under way for the construction of the water-supply network in Parowa and Ołobok, supplied from the water intake in Przejęsław. This investment will be carried out in 1997–98.
The Przejęsławianki ensemble has achievements not only in music. They have already been winners of the “traditional Christmas Eve dishes” competition, and most recently were among the winners of the 3rd Competition for Traditional Bread Baked Goods, held in Mirsk on 5 October 1996.
The organisers of the competition were the Regional Cultural Centre in Jelenia Góra, the Municipal and Community Office in Mirsk, and the Community Cultural Centre in Sulików, with the participation of the Ministry of Culture and Art.
A panel of specialists—ethnologists—judged several ensembles from the Jelenia Góra Voivodeship, which were to present homemade baked goods prepared according to their ancestors’ recipes.
The Przejęsławianki ensemble, which won one of the four top prizes, was awarded a cash prize.
Our heartfelt congratulations!
