The tournament was attended by three-person delegations from nine primary schools in our municipality, including schools from the town of Bolesławiec: Bożejowice Primary School, Dąbrowa Primary School, Kraśnik Dolny Primary School, Kraśnik Górny Primary School, Kruszyn Primary School, Ocice Primary School, Trzebień Primary School, Żeliszów Primary School and Primary School No. 5 from Bolesławiec.
The aim of the tournament was to disseminate knowledge about our municipality among schoolchildren and young people. In addition to the written test that opened the tournament, school representatives encouraged participants to visit an interesting historic monument or historical site in our municipality.
The teams from all the schools prepared excellently for the tournament, demonstrating a high level of knowledge.
Performances by the ensemble from Kraśnik Górny made the participants’ competition more enjoyable during the breaks between the events.
The participants’ knowledge was assessed by a committee consisting of: Mr Franciszek Popek – Municipal Treasurer; Ms Stanisława Potocka – Municipal Councillor; and Mr Janusz Cieśla – director of the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Kruszyn.
First place was won by Primary School No. 5 from Bolesławiec, represented by Karolina Carewicz, Celestyna Hil and Patrycja Szwed; second place went to the school from Bożejowice, represented by Aleksandra Giera, Monika Zrówna and Ewelina Siec; third place went to the school from Kraśnik Górny, represented by Gabriela Długosz, Justyna Herbut and Sylwia Napieracz; fourth place went to the school from Kruszyn; fifth place went to the schools from Dąbrowa, Ocice and Trzebień; and sixth place went to the school from Żeliszów.
On 30 November 1996, the Municipal Cultural and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn, held the 4th Bolesławiec Municipality Knowledge Tournament – “My Little Homeland”
