In March, the General Construction Company of Kazimierz Czech began renovating rooms in the municipal building in Golnice. The renovation was to include adapting the former library and Volunteer Fire Brigade station rooms into a meeting hall with sanitary facilities, as well as modernizing the kitchen. During the renovation work, a decision was made to expand its scope. The expanded scope included roofing, plastering and painting work inside and outside the building. The total cost of the completed renovation, including furnishing the meeting hall and kitchen and installing an individual sewage treatment plant to which the building was connected, amounted to over PLN 80,000.
On 19 October 1996, the ceremonial opening and handover of the “Community Center” to the residents of Golnice took place. The symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Urszula Róg, chairwoman of the Culture, Education, Sport and Health Committee; Kazimierz Gawron, Head of Bolesławiec Municipality; and Adam Miżdal, village head of Golnice.
All residents of the village will be able to use the community center’s rooms. Village meetings, family gatherings and recreational events will be held there.
