Shoplifter
-use comprehensive security for the premises with a VIDEO system,
-equip checkout stations with self-service checkouts that automatically lock the cash drawer containing takings after each transaction,
-do not keep large amounts of cash in cash drawers; instead, systematically transfer the money to a safe during the day. The safe should be installed in the back room of the commercial premises – this will help you avoid losses associated with the theft of money from takings,
b/ Burglars and perpetrators of robberies:
When securing your shop, exchange office, jewellery store or fuel station, you must also think about the night-time. Robbery perpetrators and burglars prefer to carry out their criminal activities at night. In view of the continually increasing number of such crimes and the ever-changing, increasingly sophisticated methods used by offenders, follow these few recommendations:
when you close your shop, business premises, etc. in the evening, turn on the lights and remove valuable items from the display window; if the front door is located in a recess or vestibule, the light there should remain on at night,
front and back-room doors, as well as windows, should be sturdy and fitted with certified locks,
if you can afford it, replace ordinary window panes with laminated, burglar-resistant glass,
before leaving, check that no unauthorised person has hidden in publicly accessible rooms, such as the toilet,
do not forget to activate the alarm system or systems before leaving the commercial premises,
do not leave the takings overnight – it is best to deposit the money in a bank. If this is not possible, keep it in a certified safe.
