We recently wrote about the success of the students coached by Krzysztof Sokoliński, who became the “volleyball” champions among the upper-secondary schools of our province. Now we are pleased to inform our Readers that the boys from I Liceum Ogólnokształcące and the girls from Zespół Szkół Zawodowych im Henryka Sucharskiego won the relay cross-country races. The final of the provincial edition of the Youth Olympics was held on 26 April in Lubań.
The girls, each of whom had to cover 1,000 metres, competed in the following lineup: Alicja Cieśla – team captain, Urszula Kufel, Urszula Dutkiewicz, Justyna Członka, Eliza Szwed, Katarzyna Pławiak, Elżbieta Struś, Izabela Bzdyk, Magda Neubauer, and Urszula Drozd. The girls owe their success to the school’s physical education teachers. The other team from our city taking part in the competition, from Zespół Szkół Handlowo-Usługowych, finished fourth.
