The gala was held on 10 June in the auditorium of Secondary School Complex No. 1. For the seventh time, the County Centre for Education and Staff Training honoured both the most talented students and their teachers.

A total of 1,935 people took part in county Polish-language competitions. This school year, the following were held: the County Spelling Tournament (in four age categories), the 6th County Polish Language Competition for primary-school students, “In the Family Circle,” and the competition for lower-secondary-school students, “Among Literary Motifs” (with mountains as its central theme).

During the 2007/2008 school year, the County Polish Language Competition was organized for the first time for fourth-grade primary-school students: “Be Polite to Everyone and Warm with Those Close to You.” The County Polish Language Competition for fifth-grade primary-school students, “On Familiar Terms with Polish,” was held for the second time.

Around 2,821 students entered the county mathematics competitions. The following were also held: the Art Knowledge Tournament, organized jointly with the Museum of Ceramics in Bolesławiec, and the 2nd County German Language Competition for lower-secondary-school students, “Proverbs are the Ornament of Speech,” co-organized by the John Paul II Lower Secondary School in Iwiny.

This school year, winners of the zDolny Ślazaczek and zDolny Ślązak Gimnazjalista competitions co-organized by PCEiKK were selected for the seventh time. The detailed list of winners is available on the website of the County Centre for Education and Staff Training.
