Three-time Polish champion, Poland’s representative at the World Junior Championships, one of the greatest sporting talents to emerge in Bolesławiec in recent years. A modest, friendly young man in everyday life, with a clearly defined goal – representing Poland at the Olympic Games.
This brief description fully reflects the profile of Bartosz Gruman, until the end of last year an athlete in the track and field section of MKS-MOS “Bolesłavia”, and now a competitor representing AZS-AWF Wrocław. The change of club colors was prompted by Bartosz beginning higher education at Wrocław’s Alma Mater. His professional career has developed properly to date. Bartek was Polish champion in the 400-metre hurdles for younger juniors, juniors, and, in 1995, youth athletes. He won all the championship titles available for his section, club and city.
He brought fame to Bolesławiec in Poland and beyond its borders, becoming the best “ambassador” of our city to the outside world. It is a pity that we, as residents of the town on the Bóbr, failed to notice this fact and support his talent, even minimally.
In recent months, Bartosz Gruman has been selected for our country’s extended Olympic squad. On my own behalf, and I believe also on behalf of all supporters of track and field and sport in our city, I wish Bartek the fulfillment of his sporting dreams.
