A Mr Franciszek Dąbrowski came to the editorial office of "Głos Bolesławca" and presented us with the matter of recovering savings deposited in the Cooperative Bank in Bolesławiec. As we know, the CB went bankrupt, and people want to recover their savings.
That is precisely the case with Mr F. Dąbrowski. The file he showed us contains all the documentation (correspondence) he conducted over a period of two years, wanting "my money, which I deposited with WBS B-c with the intention of withdrawing it systematically for bills and medicines, to be paid out to me". He mentioned that he was due to undergo spinal surgery in February 1996 and needed the money. The matter of recovering his savings went to court, and two court hearings took place: 1/ Case No. NC 119/94 of 21 November 1994 and 2/ Case No. Ic 290/94 of 30 November 1994. Both cases even ordered the repayment of the savings and instructed the bailiff to have the bankruptcy trustee pay the awarded amount... to this day, he has not recovered the money.
The notes provided show that Mr F. Dąbrowski wrote to:
The District Prosecutor's Office in Bolesławiec – 9 times
The Provincial Court and Provincial Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra – 8 times
The Bolesławiec Cooperative Bank, correspondence – 10 times
including:
on 22 March 1994, regarding making a copy of 116,893,900 and calculating
interest on the amount of 8,262,800;
on 30 September 1994, the director of the CB, M. Sobczak, proposed "Stomadent services in exchange for the amount owed;
A letter from the Bailiff of the District Court in Bolesławiec concerning the settlement under the court judgment (Case No. 61/94) of the principal amount of 16,893,900 + legal costs + interest;
Minister of Justice J. Jaskiernia – 4 letters,
A letter to the Marshal of the Sejm (28 October 1995);
Commissioner for Citizens' Rights T. Zieliński. In total, Mr Dąbrowski wrote 44 letters over two years while pursuing his claims, and what was the result? Where else should he write to recover his money? – perhaps someone knows and will write to the editorial office about what else can be done in this matter and whom to write to for a positive outcome? We wish Mr Dąbrowski finally succeeds in recovering his money.
