Nowogrodziec’s municipal experience
Nowogrodziec is one of those bold municipalities in our province that, without looking to “top-down directives,” took over responsibility for education more than a year ago. In other words, the Municipality treated it as its own responsibility (“all children are ours...”), bringing to completion the process of creating independent budgetary units in the schools and transferring the property to them. It paid off a hundredfold, because instead of an “experiment,” all educational institutions are functioning normally, harmoniously and peacefully. Is this because a teacher by profession and vocation was elected mayor? The residents of the municipality themselves must answer such a question. There is something to it, however, since at the other end of the extensive municipality construction of a school in Nowa Wieś is considerably advanced, as are extensions to educational facilities in Gościszów and Godzieszów. One can sincerely congratulate the local authorities on their dynamism, resourcefulness and independence, as they are accomplishing tangible results without waiting for the so-called educational subsidy from the Ministry of National Education.
The municipality’s development strategy is ready!
Bolesławiec is only now commissioning a team of specialists to prepare a development strategy for the city, whereas Nowogrodziec already has a completed strategic plan for the city and municipality and has also reached the halfway point in work related to spatial development plans. That is what you call acceleration! If we add the genuine momentum in preparing for the implementation of the second stage of telephone network expansion in the municipality, as well as the waste landfill and water treatment plant, we must respectfully acknowledge the work of the municipal councillors and authorities.
Time to develop sport
The period of stagnation in the development of sport and physical education in Nowogrodziec and the surrounding area has definitively ended. The creation of new LZS teams, the renovation of the sports stadium, which had previously been municipalized, and significant progress in revitalizing school sports are all signs heralding spring in this field... Saxon post...
During the reign of the Saxon dynasty in Poland, under Augustus II and Augustus III (1697–1763), regular mail ran between Warsaw and Dresden. The postal stagecoach covered this route in two weeks. In Silesia, the route was marked with special postal pillars bearing an engraved postal symbol.
The only historic postal pillar of its kind has survived in Nowogrodziec, on the route to Lubań Śląski. This monument received recognition from the authorities of Nowogrodziec and avoided the fate of many similar monuments, such as numerous penitential crosses. The area around the pillar was hardened, and the old chain fence was repaired. To achieve the full effect, the postal symbol still needs to be cleaned and an information plaque about this interesting object needs to be installed.
Attention
I appeal to the residents of the Municipality and City of Nowogrodziec to manage forests and wooded areas rationally.
My appeal is prompted by the excessive and often thoughtless cutting down of trees and shrubs. This situation has a very negative impact on the condition of the natural environment. It happens that trees are felled without the permit required by law. In justified cases, permits to cut down trees in wooded areas are issued by this office, while for private forests they are issued by the territorially competent forest district.
To prevent further devastation of the environment, I have instructed the Municipal Guard and the Police to intensify inspections in this area. Cases of violations of the law identified by these services will be treated with the utmost severity.
At the same time, I explain that without a permit, the only things that may be cut down on one’s own property are: A/ fruit trees, B/ trees and shrubs no more than 5 years old.
