I began working in school supervision at the Education Authority in Jelenia Góra in the year the Education System Act was announced (1991) and, after transferring to work at the Bolesławiec City Office under an inter-institutional agreement, continued in the Department of Education and Social Affairs until 28 February this year.
As this is a very important milestone in my life, I would like, in the pages of a magazine that has often published my articles on educational matters in the past, to thank all those with whom I had the satisfaction of working during the transformation of our education system.
I would especially like to thank the Education Superintendent in Jelenia Góra, mgr. inż. Andzrej Szustak, for organizing meetings on municipalities taking over the running of primary schools, and mgr Janina Rymanowska, senior inspector of the Education Authority (Lubań Branch), for her commitment to transferring the assets of Bolesławiec schools into municipal property.
I also thank the Heads and Employees of the Bolesławiec City Office (namely, the Department of Land Management and the Finance and Budget Department), thanks to whose competence and work culture the municipalization of primary-school property proceeded smoothly.
I would like to extend special thanks to the Director of the Department of General Education and Care of the Education Authority in Jelenia Góra, Dr. Henryk Gradkowski, for his kindness and dedication to educational matters, as well as to mgr Danuta Hołod, senior inspector of the Education Authority in Jelenia Góra (Lubań Branch), who repeatedly proved herself an exceptionally skilled specialist, serving with her knowledge and experience in the supervised preschools in Bolesławiec.
I also convey words of thanks to the Education, Culture and Sport Committee of the Municipal Council (of the previous and current terms). I would also like to emphasize that the organization of renovations in primary schools in 1994, costing more than two billion old złoty, took place with the particular personal involvement of the committee’s then chair, mgr. Bogusław Juda.
I thank the employees of the offices of neighboring municipalities for exchanging experience concerning the running of schools.
I thank the Ombudsman for Children, Jadwiga Bobek, for her wholehearted and devoted work on behalf of children.
I direct special words of recognition and thanks to the director, mgr Stanisława Szlenzak, and the employees of an institution of particular merit to our education: the Special Schools Complex in Bolesławiec.
Taking this opportunity, in connection with the approaching milestone changes—described as a “Copernican revolution”—in Polish schools concerning curricula, teaching plans and the grading system, I wish the teaching staff, children and young people every success, and my female and male colleagues, may the coming changes also have a tangible effect in the form of teachers’ salaries.
I thank the employees of cultural and physical-culture institutions, as well as sports clubs and associations, for their cooperation, and wish them success in raising a person—a conscious co-creator of their own health—and in building an empowered society capable of shaping the face of reality.
I thank Bolesławiec’s mass media, “Głos Bolesławca” and “Samorządowa Telewizja Lokalna Bolesławiec,” for their cooperation in promoting the didactic and educational work of schools in the field of environmental education.
To all participants in the environmental meetings at the Bolesławiec City Office, as well as to the Superintendent of the Bolesławiec Forest District, mgr. inż. Jerzy Wisławski, and the Nature Protection Guard at the Bolesławiec ZHP Scout Troop Headquarters, I wish continued success in promoting a healthy lifestyle and protecting nature.
In conclusion, I wish all those with whom I have had the opportunity to work for the good of our education much health and every prosperity.
Yours respectfully
Deputy Head
Department of Education and Social Affairs
Bolesławiec City Office
mgr Anna Staszak
