As befits a municipality with ambitions, Osiecznica has its own quarterly newsletter, “Szepty Gminne”. In December 1995, the third issue of this interesting little publication appeared. Its 14 pages contain a wealth of fascinating information about the local community. It includes the history of the municipality, the budget for 1996, a calendar of the Municipal Board’s work, the section “Getting on First-Name Terms with Ecology”, the article “Our Health in Our Hands”, information about the needs of Świętoszów, as well as a police chronicle, sports, and “Peas and Carrots”—snide, but good-natured and cultured, political commentary on a macro scale, along with mockery of local blunders. An ideal Christmas-tree gift... The “The Therapist Advises” section sparkles with humor. Perhaps that is why the entire publication is so easy to read; it offers both a compendium of knowledge and relaxation.
