The year 1995 passed as another year of intensive work. The preliminary assessment of budget execution gives hope that (many additional tasks have been completed) the financial situation of the Municipality is improving. Evidence of this is the securing of current financing for the tasks being carried out, without the need to interrupt or abandon their implementation. Investment expenditure accounts for 25% of the budget.
The past year was the first year in which the municipality managed “education” as its own responsibility. Almost all work related to establishing budgetary units and transferring assets to them was completed.
Work on the construction of the school in Nowa Wieś and the expansion of schools in Gościszów and Godzieszów advanced significantly.
It was not necessary to make any “unpopular” decisions at the Kindergarten (closing classes).
In agriculture, increased demand for the purchase and lease of land was noticeable. The water-supply system in Jeleniów was completed.
In transport, a total of 4,689 linear metres of municipal roads and 6,215 linear metres of roads were completed, with very substantial financial involvement by the municipality.

In municipal services, work on equipping areas in the town progressed at a rapid pace, including electrification, gasification and street lighting on Polna and Nowogrodzka Streets, as well as in Nowa Wieś, Kol. N-c and Czerna.
Preparations related to the implementation of extremely important projects for the town and municipality gained momentum, namely the SUW N-c water treatment plant and the municipal landfill. Implementation cost in 1996: PLN 1,200 thousand.
In culture and the arts, many municipality-wide events were held, such as the Spartakiad of the “Kwisa” Association of Municipalities, the Municipal Harvest Festival, the Regional Fire Brigade Competition, the Miss contest and the Mini Hit List. The folk groups “Milikowianki” and “Gościszowianki” continued their activities.
In social welfare, it was possible to secure basic needs (benefits) for the recipients of MGOPS assistance despite continued high unemployment.
In physical culture, new LZS teams were formed after a longer break, the Municipal Stadium was renovated, and school sports were covered by broader activities.
In administration, the long-awaited renovation of the interior of the Town Hall building began. Work on preparing the Spatial Development Plan for the Town and Municipality reached the halfway point. Work related to the Development Strategy of the Municipality and Town of Nowogrodziec was completed.
In 1996, the main focus is on tasks that must be completed in order to lay the foundations and ensure a good start for what follows. These most important “documents” will set the Municipality’s development directions through 2000.
