In April this year, the club (community center) of the “Konrad” Mining Works ceased to operate, along with its long-standing library. The artistic groups (including the brass band) and interest sections, which had already been operating only marginally in recent times, were also disbanded. Bolesławiec no longer has a workplace cultural center. This one was the last.
The well-known and popular backyard band “Bolusie” was also supposed to share the fate of the disbanded groups. However, thanks to the kindness of the director of the Works in Iwiny (the free transfer of instruments and equipment), the band came under the patronage of the Towarzystwo Miłośników Bolesławca and was able to continue operating.
Perhaps you will come across the friendly “Bolusie” on spring and summer afternoons and evenings, as they try to make your time more enjoyable with music in the Market Square or on a housing estate. Send them a friendly smile—let them keep playing.
