This coming Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., the 2nd Lower Silesian Primary Schools Athletics Meet will be held at the stadium in Świętoszów. As part of the event, young athletes will compete in the following disciplines: 60- and 600-meter races, long jump, medicine-ball throw and high jump. A total of 350 competitors have announced their participation in Wednesday’s meet—100 more than in last year’s edition.

The stars of the meet will be renowned Polish athletes: Marek Plawgo, Paweł Januszewski and Tomasz Rudnik. The famous athletes will lead a professional warm-up with the competitors and serve as referees in the individual events.

Additional attractions at the meet will include displays of physical skills prepared by soldiers who served in the 62nd Special Company (Military Unit 2457) in Bolesławiec. These will include demonstrations of air-gun shooting, throwing grenades, knives and throwing stars at targets, a commando run and a climbing demonstration. Participants will also be able to try pea soup or hunter’s stew. The websites www.boleslawiec.org / www.istotneinformacje.pl are media patrons of the event.
