For several days, Rev. Władysław Rączka has been busy moving to Legnica. “I have very little time. From Monday, I will already be far from Bolesławiec,” says the prelate. The dean will live in the Home for Retired Priests. Retired priests receive comprehensive care there. The home has two chapels, 24 apartments, a dining room, a kitchen, a treatment room and rehabilitation rooms.

Last year, Rev. Władysław Rączka celebrated 50 years of pastoral service. He spent nearly 37 years in Bolesławiec. His work was highly regarded not only by Church authorities but also by the city’s community, which awarded the dean the title of Honorary Citizen of Bolesławiec nine years ago.

The farewell Mass will be held on Sunday, June 27, at 12:30 p.m. in the church in the Market Square. On that day, the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas will also be elevated to the rank of a sanctuary. The ceremony will conclude with the granting of the title of Honorary Parish Priest and Custodian of the Sanctuary to Rev. Rączka.
