The district qualifiers for the contest addressed to students in grades 4–6 of primary school took place on April 3 in the auditorium of the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec.
Nineteen reciters from across Bolesławiec County entered the contest. The panel (comprising Maria Sobolska, a Polish teacher; Katarzyna Pranić, an MDK teacher-instructor; and Marek Łętowski, an MDK teacher-instructor) decided to award two main prizes and four honourable mentions.
First place went to Justyna Orłowska from the school in Dąbrowa. The winner presented an excellent interpretation of the well-known poem “Spieszmy się” by Fr. Jan Twardowski. Kamil Korczowski from the school in Brzeźnik received the second prize. Kamil recited Hanna Januszewska’s text “Dal”. Both prize winners qualified for the provincial qualifiers, which will take place on April 29 at the Kłodzko Cultural Centre.
The jury also recognised:
- Justyna Szabłowska from Primary School No. 3 (“Conversation with a Stone” by Wisława Szymborska)
- Marcin Jopkiewicz from the school in Świętoszów (“Song about a Paper Soldier” by Witold Dąbrowski)
- Ewa Olszowa from the school in Tomisław (“Cat in an Empty Apartment” by Wisława Szymborska)
- Grzegorz Oślak from Primary School No. 5 (“Morning in the Forest” by Czesław Janczarski).
The district qualifiers were organised by MDK.
