Employees of the Wrocław branch of the Meteorological Forecast Office of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management predict that a windstorm will pass over Lower Silesia this weekend. On the night of February 29 to March 1, the wind may blow at an average speed of 40 to 50 km/h, with maximum gusts reaching 70 to 80 km/h.

On Saturday afternoon, the wind will intensify. Its average speed will be between 50 and 60 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 120 km/h. On Sunday afternoon, the wind will gradually weaken.

Expected effects of the windstorm include damage to buildings, roofs being torn off, damage to towers and chimneys, overhead power lines being torn down, trees being uprooted, and transport disruptions. The situation is being monitored on an ongoing basis by the Voivodeship Crisis Management Center.
