The property is to be included in the “New Old Town” programme, which is one of the tasks set out in the Local Revitalisation Plan. The programme aims to renovate part of the old town, including the refurbishment of the tenement houses around the market square.
The revitalisation of the property at Chopina Street will involve more than simply bringing Cinema Orzeł back to life. The building is to become a cultural centre, offering a wide range of artistic activities. Photography workshops, screenings of independent films and meetings of a film discussion club are to be held there, among other events. An arts café may also be opened. The aim is for the cinema, which is currently closed, to become a place where Bolesławiec’s cultural life can flourish and where people can spend their free time in an attractive way.
