The woman was threatened with death unless she immediately closed the service business she ran. Frightened, she notified the police. Several days later, the woman's common-law partner reported to the police station. He said that two unknown assailants in a dark BMW passenger car had cut him off and, using an unidentified tool, threatened to kill him. The attackers were also said to have repeated the threats against his partner.
The police thoroughly investigated every aspect of the case. As the investigation revealed, the attack described by the intimidated woman's common-law partner could not have taken place. This gave rise to suspicions that the man might be involved in the incident.
The police detained the suspect. It was established that he himself had been sending threatening text messages to his common-law partner. The attack he reported turned out to be fictional. The perpetrator invented it to make the entire story seem credible. When asked why he had done so, he stated that he wanted to make the woman love him more in this way.
It is not known what the couple's future life will look like. The detainee faces up to two years in prison.
