At the beginning of 2008, we are pleased to announce another success! Boleslawiec.org is currently the most popular and most frequently visited website describing life in our city and county. This is confirmed by an independent survey conducted on an ongoing basis by stat24/PBI. According to data compiled by this company, Boleslawiec.org has overtaken all Bolesławiec websites.

Other successes of 2007

With the help of the Bolesławiec Lovers' Society and the Museum of Ceramics, we prepared a free archive of "Głos Bolesławca," a newspaper published from 1992 to 1997. We made more than 1,500 articles published in the periodical available. "Głos Bolesławca" is a true treasure trove of knowledge about Bolesławiec and its residents during the first years of the Third Polish Republic.

With our readers in mind—and thanks to the kindness of Rev. Dean Andrzej Jarosiewicz, curator of the Sanctuary of the Assumption of the Mother of the Church—we made an excellent live camera view of Bolesławiec's market square available.

As a serious media outlet, we cooperate with the District Court in Bolesławiec on the publication of judgments. On our website, you can read who was convicted and for what.

In August of that year, Boleslawiec.org was presented on TVP in the program “Dolnośląskie lato.” Polish Television journalists took notice of our website and decided to show it to other residents of Lower Silesia.

Boleslawiec.org creates culture at the highest level. We were the media patron of Gliniada, the first parade in history inspired by a love of clay—an extraordinary event that was even covered by CNN. The portal also co-organizes art exhibitions and competitions.

We support young creators. The website produced several films by Przemysław Filipowicz, including “Przyjaciel,” “Portret Ewy,” and a documentary about Piotr Sudół, “Pan Chlebek.” In addition, the portal's editor-in-chief, Krzysztof Gwizdała, together with Grażyna Hanaf, prepared a series of film portraits titled “Poza codziennością,” telling the stories of extraordinary residents of Bolesławiec (the series featured portraits of Jolanta Ajlikow-Czarnecka, Bogusław Nowak, Janina Jadwiga Sarzyńska, Stanisław Borowski, and Elżbieta Eisenblaetter). More portraits will be created soon.

What is Boleslawiec.org like?

The Boleslawiec.org portal is characterized by attention to detail, reliable information, and high-quality photographs. Boleslawiec.org's strengths include professionally prepared news, numerous video materials, a detailed weather forecast, an extensive photo gallery, rankings, a discussion forum, polls, and classified ads.

Our readers willingly comment on events described on the website. The number, quality, and length of the comments clearly demonstrate that we reach intelligent people who are interested in what is happening in our city.

Taking this opportunity, the editorial staff wishes you all the best in 2008!
