Over the weekend, Bolesławiec bridge players played the second round of matches. Second-division Prnjavor Bolesławiec took part in the Gliwice round. Unfortunately, Saturday was unlucky for our players. Prnjavor suffered three defeats, losing to Silesia I Gliwice (2:25), Silesia II Gliwice (11:19) and Pik Bielsko-Biała (14:16).
The Bolesławiec players performed completely differently on Sunday. Prnjavor defeated AZS VI Wałbrzych (25:4) and Animex Opole (23:7) by a wide margin. Thanks to these victories, our bridge players earned almost the maximum number of match points. After the Gliwice round, the Bolesławiec team is ninth in the table (147 VP). If our bridge players move into the top six, they will compete for promotion to the first division. BKB Prnjavor Bolesławiec played with: Jarosław Molenda (captain), Jerzy Olenderek, Artur Winkler, Antoni Ochot, Wiesław Tabiszewski and Lech Warężak.
Our third-division team, Pogrom Bolesławiec, put in a very strong performance in Brzeg Dolny, recording four decisive victories and suffering one narrow defeat. Our players (Roland Lippik, Ryszard Makuch, Jacek Baranowski, Tomasz Łowicki, Jerzy Zatylny and Jerzy Snopczyński) won the round and are near the top of the table, retaining realistic chances of promotion to the second division.
