Police, the municipal police and the military police accompanied the soldiers who completed their nine-month compulsory military service at units in Świętoszów and Bolesławiec. Most of the former soldiers travelled home by train. Former soldiers left the 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów in two groups—before noon and in the afternoon. The first group consisted of more than 300 people.
For the duration of the military vehicle convoy’s passage, police blocked traffic at two intersections in Bolesławiec. Reservists from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Brigade, stationed in Bolesławiec, joined the former soldiers from Świętoszów at the railway station. Just under two hundred conscript soldiers left the Bolesławiec brigade. The men who lived in towns near Bolesławiec were taken home by hired buses. Those who lived farther away returned home by train.
