“We wanted to strongly emphasize the character of our city,” explains Paweł Zwierz, one of the co-owners of „Manufaktura”. And indeed. The bottle is approximately 3 metres high. It is admittedly made of polystyrene. Nevertheless, its colour and distinctive stamped decoration immediately bring Bolesławiec ceramics to mind. What is more, the shape of the vessel refers to the bottle in „Manufaktura”’s logo.
The company came up with the idea of developing the roundabout and, consequently, promoting the city and its own products more than a year ago. The formalities took considerable time. The bottle was only placed at the roundabout relatively recently—in cooperation with the Municipal Office and the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.
“The local authorities admitted that this is a very interesting initiative,” says Paweł Zwierz. – “We hope that the bottle will attract the attention of foreign drivers. Many tourists do not know that Bolesławiec is a city of ceramics.” The co-owner of „Manufaktura” also points out that other ceramics producers could consider such promotion. Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec” already advertise their products in a similar way. And there are many places that could be put to good use.
According to Zwierz and the employees of „Manufaktura”, Bolesławiec should promote its unique ceramics more intensively and effectively. The company is already thinking about another vessel, too. “We plan to place a similar structure in front of our company shop,” says Paweł Zwierz.
