On September 30, the Potato Festival will begin in front of the Community Hall in Golnice. The organizers have planned numerous competitions: for the strangest potato and the most original vegetable sculpture, potato digging (where the time and number of potatoes dug up will count), throwing a potato at a target, “squeezing” 30-kilogram sacks, and a potato slalom. There will also be plenty of musical entertainment. Local stars will perform during the event. In addition, visitors will of course be able to sample potato delicacies on site: potato pancakes, salads, potatoes in their skins, and potatoes baked over a fire. The festival is organized by the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec, based in Kruszyn.
