The central theme of the “Dignity and Human Rights” conference is the quotation “I learned to see a human being in everyone, even in my enemy.” The main organizers of the event are the Bolesławiec District Board of the Polish Red Cross, together with the Lower Silesian School of Higher Education TWP in Wrocław and the Lower Silesian Higher School of Public Services “Asesor” in Wrocław.

The conference is aimed at secondary-school students. Its purpose is to promote knowledge of human rights and international humanitarian law. A competition for young people on these subjects is also planned.

Promoting international humanitarian law is one of the statutory tasks of the Polish Red Cross. The involvement of the Wrocław higher-education institutions in organizing the conference will ensure a high academic standard of the lectures. The main aim of the event is to build awareness of civil society among secondary-school students.

The event will take place on 7 September 2007, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the I Tyrankiewicz High School in Bolesławiec. The conference is under the honorary patronage of Cezary Przybylski – Starosta of Bolesławiec County. Boleslawiec.org is the event’s media patron.
