Friday was the first day of the 13th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival. From the morning, ceramic producers were setting up commercial stalls in the city center. An antiques fair was also held in the Market Square from the morning. At 6:30 p.m., the Ceramic Parade set off from the castle square.
The city and county authorities, ceramic producers, Bolesławiec artists, folk groups, the "Bobrzanie" Slavic Group, craft representatives, miners, and invited guests, including those from Lwówek Śląski, Węgliniec and Zgorzelec, took part in it. The passage of several dozen clay figures closing the ceramic procession made the greatest impression on Bolesławiec residents and visitors. The parade passed through the Market Square, Sierpnia '80 Street and Asnyka Street, ending at Rev. Popiełuszko Square.
The 13th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival was opened by Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman and the mayor of the Norwegian city of Molde, Jan Petter Hammerø, who smashed ceramic pots for good luck. After the official opening of the ceramic festival, a commemorative photograph was taken of the people gathered in front of the stage. The group photograph was taken from a lift platform.
The headlining concert by the rock-pop group De Mono began late. During their concert, which lasted over an hour, the musicians played their greatest hits, including "Znów jesteś ze mną", "Moje miasto nocą" and "Statki na niebie". The band members did not want photographs to be taken of them. After De Mono's performance, a dance party hosted by Muzyczne Radio, combined with competitions, began on the main stage.
The performances on the main stage were not the only attraction on the first day of the ceramic festival. Just before 11 p.m., an opera concert began in front of Piwnica Paryska.
Bolesławiec residents listened to world-class artists from the Voronezh State Opera and Ballet Theatre. Irina Romanowskaja (soprano), Igor Denisow (baritone) and Swietłana Aleksandrowa (piano) delighted the audience and prompted spontaneous rounds of applause. The concert was organized by the Via Sudetica association and patronized by Boleslawiec.org.
