An exhibition of paintings by Wanda Macur, embroidered on canvas with a needle and thread, can be viewed at the Pegaz Club of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre. Ms Wanda, a retired teacher, also worked for many years as a school inspector. She has been creating her paintings for more than 30 years. They include reproductions of works by famous masters, as well as the author’s very personal subjects, from her beloved landscapes and flowers to portraits of loved ones.
As Ms Wanda says, this creative work helps her move away from sadness, boredom and nostalgia into the beauty of colours and the prospect of a better tomorrow.
The exhibition of Wanda Macur’s paintings can be viewed until 14 October.
