Sports Saturday was held on 21 July at the Water and Sports Centre on Spacerowa Street. The event, promoting the idea of “Sports holidays – holidays without boredom,” was a real treat for enthusiasts of active leisure and water sports. Everyone could take part in the competitions—regardless of age, gender or place of residence; both amateurs and professionals.

Twelve competitors took part in the badminton tournament. First place was won by Nicol Mucha from Bolesławiec. Daria Młynek from Wola Mielecka came second. Third place went to Wiktoria Młynek from Mielec.

Nine two-person teams entered the boule tournament. The matches were played in two groups in a round-robin format. The winners were the Bolesławiec team of Nicol Mucha and Adrianna Łajczak. The following places went to the teams of Marzena and Adam Klimczyk, Michał and Dariusz Stępień, and Paulina Piotrowska and Paweł Czachara.

Swimming competitions were also held. The competitors took part in events including the 50 m butterfly, 50 m backstroke, 50 m breaststroke, 50 m freestyle and 200 m freestyle. The best swimmers in their respective categories were Vanessa Piotrowska, Agnieszka Janicka, Rafał Piotrowski, Michał Iwan, Wiktoria Młynek, Igor Grzyb, Agnieszka Janicka, Dorota Bernat, Ewa Cygan, Patryk Walczak and Paulina Piotrowska.

In water volleyball, the Kociaki team, consisting of Malwina Senyszyn, Klaudia Senyszyn and Daria Kaszyc, was the best in the under-13 category. In the open category, first place went to Bez_Imiennym, consisting of Piotr Zuzak, Łukasz Kumosz and Paweł Wilas.

In the under-13 water basketball matches, Włatcy Móch were unbeatable. The team consisted of Paweł Kafel, Igor Grzyb and Kacper Ostaszewski. The open category was won by Nie Trzaskaj Firanką, namely Paweł Kafel, Igor Grzyb and Kacper Ostaszewski.

The undeniable highlight of Sports Saturday was a kayaking freestyle show performed by Robert and Jakub Hankiewicz, competitors from the Karkonoski Kayaking Club in Jelenia Góra.

Jakub Hankiewicz is the Polish junior kayaking freestyle champion. The talented boy also took first place in the Indoor Kayaking Freestyle Competition. Robert Hankiewicz, meanwhile, has achieved high places in kayaking competitions—albeit in the senior category.

Sports Saturday was co-financed by the Municipality of Bolesławiec as part of the Municipal Programme for the Prevention and Resolution of Alcohol-Related Problems.
