Our Reader informed the Boleslawiec.org service that manure is routinely spread on fields, even during the hottest summer weather. At times, the stench is unbearable. Some farmers spread manure on their own fields without covering it with soil.

The matter is well known to Mirosław Haniszewski, Head of the Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality. “I cannot forbid farmers from spreading manure on their own fields,” the head of the municipality explains. “I have no administrative authority to do so,” he adds.

As the head of the municipality admits, the issue concerns both farmers with small plots and those who have vast areas of land. One of the residents of Warta Bolesławiecka also approached Mirosław Haniszewski about the manure. The head of the municipality discussed the matter with many farmers. He urged them to cover the manure with soil at the same time as spreading it. This way, the unpleasant smell remains in the air for a much shorter time. “Farmers are taking this request into account,” says Haniszewski.

The Boleslawiec.org service joins the head of the municipality in appealing to the residents of the Warta Bolesławiecka municipality for solidarity with their neighbors and for not making life unpleasant for one another.
