In less than a week, an agreement on cooperation with the Czech city is to be signed. In mid-July, the Czechs put forward such a proposal.
The partnership agreement expresses the desire to return to good relations between the two cities, as was the case in 1919–1938. The declared cooperation will not be limited to cultural contacts. The cities want to develop a partnership also in the economic, social and educational spheres.
Česká Lípa will be Bolesławiec’s fifth partner city. At present, Bolesławiec cooperates with Siegburg and Pirna in Germany, Hobro in Denmark, and Nogent sur Marne in France.
