The review took place on June 6. Bolesławiec’s Camerton won first place, the Lubin Golden Bells, with excellent performances of works including: “Tik-tak” by Orlando di Lasso, “Wiewiórka” by Andrzej Koszewski, “Parce Domine” by Feliks Nowowiejski, “My Way Back Home” by J. Althaus, and “Siyahamba” by S.O. Barnikl.

The interpretation of “Wiewiórka” so impressed the jury chairman, Przemysław Pałka, a professor at the Academy of Music in Poznań, that he decided to invite the Bolesławiec choir to the anniversary celebration of the work’s author – Poznań composer Andrzej Koszewski! Camerton also won a material prize – a violin funded by MP Piotr Cybulski.

“I am very happy that we are among the best ensembles in Lower Silesia and that, through its commitment and work, the choir has reached such a high level,” Camerton’s conductor and director Aleksandr Samostrokov told Boleslawiec.org. “I would like this choir to continue developing. The children are growing, and their mastery is growing, but it is not perfect yet. I would like to establish a vocal studies program alongside the choir so that every child would have the opportunity to develop vocally,” the conductor added. The Camerton Choir has existed since 1999. It currently has around 50 members.
