Despite last year's great success of Marian Kupnicki's team, Sakura withdrew from sponsoring bridge. This year, Poznań-based Eko-All took over the team. The team did not disappoint and once again confirmed its class. In the regular season, which ended in January, the team finished second and entered the play-off stage from that position. In the quarterfinal, Eko defeated Polfa Warszawa 177:133.
The great bridge superleague final was held in Poznań from 5 to 8 June. In the semifinal, the team in which Kupnicki plays a key role defeated Spójnia Warszawa 179:136. The final remained tense until the very end. The Poznań team led until halfway through the match. However, it lost to the favorites from Wrocław, 130:164. The Bolesławiec grandmaster deserves great recognition for winning a medal in the Polish Team Championships for the second time.
This is not the only recent success of Bolesławiec's bridge players. Andrzej Kaźmierczak and Antoni Ochot (BKB Prnjavor) won the Pairs Tournament "For the Copper Vat" held in Legnica a week ago. The players finished 5% ahead of the next pair, which is no mean feat in tournament competitions.
