Thanks to an event organised by the Federation of Young Social Democrats and the “Gwarek” Allotment Garden, twenty children from the community and prevention centre operating at Primary School No. 4 had an interesting Children’s Day. The celebrations began with a trip to the Museum of Ceramics. There, the children learned how the Hussites attacked Bolesławiec, massacred its inhabitants and destroyed the town. They could see, and even hold, the instruments of crime used by the Czech invaders. It was quite a history lesson. However, that was not the end of the surprises.
At the “Gwarek” Allotment Gardens on Piastów Street, fried sausages, ice cream and competitions with prizes awaited them. The children recited poems and told jokes. The fun was excellent. There was plenty of joy. “The primary aim of our event was to celebrate Children’s Day successfully with the most important people on that day—the children themselves. In addition to great fun and entertainment, we also wanted to show the children what a fascinating and rich history our town has, hence the trip to the museum exhibition devoted to the Hussite attack on Bolesławiec,” says Michał Banaś, one of the event’s organisers and initiators. “We thank all the children on their special day for their joyful laughter and many kind words. We also wish them to keep smiles on their faces Until the end of the world and perhaps one day longer,” adds Daniel Biernat, chairman of FMS.
The event was attended by: Pamela Banaszak, Daniel Biernat, Paweł Zieliński, Michał Banaś, Bartek Galiński and Maciej Gorczyca.
