Popularly known as Wojtek, Bogumił Wojciech Krzywdziński headed the Bolesławiec addiction treatment ward for several years. He initiated many projects aimed at helping people struggling with addiction and their families. Among other things, he conceived and established the Ward Alumni Reunions, family support groups and group therapy sessions in Bolesławiec. Bogumił Krzywdziśńki worked with all abstinence-oriented communities. He refused help to no one. He was kind and understanding. Always cheerful and with a sense of humour, he helped and advised everyone who turned to him for assistance. Hundreds, even thousands, of people and their loved ones owe their return to sobriety, freedom from drug addiction and other addictions, and return to normal life to Wojtek. They came not only from Bolesławiec and the surrounding area.

Bogumił Krzywdziński served three terms as a councillor on the Bolesławiec City Council. He chaired and served on the Municipal Commission for Solving Alcohol-Related Problems. From July this year, he was to establish a training centre for clinical psychologists at the ward he headed. He did not live to do so. A serious illness took his life.

Bogumił Wojciech Krzywdziński’s funeral will take place next Saturday, 19 May 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at the Municipal Cemetery in Bolesławiec.

The Boleslawiec.org editorial team extends its condolences to our colleague, Jacek Krzywdziński, Mr Krzywdziński’s son. Together with Jacek, we prepared the films "Koniec Muru" and "Fikszyn", directed by Przemysław Filipowicz.
