In connection with the county celebrations of the 1,050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland, scheduled for 4 November, the County Office, in cooperation with the Stanisław Wyspiański Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec, is announcing an art competition for school-age children and young people (primary, lower-secondary and upper-secondary school students). Each participant may submit one independently created work, with a maximum format of 50 × 70. – We do not accept group works. Works should not be mounted in passe-partout – the organisers emphasise.
Participants may choose from three topics:
- an artistic vision of the historical event that was the Baptism of Poland
- Polish and European art of the early Middle Ages
- an initial letter – an artistic exploration of calligraphy and miniature.
The works, which should be made using any painting or drawing technique (oil, acrylic, tempera, poster paint, watercolour, oil and dry pastel, crayons, markers, inks, batik, mixed techniques, etc.), should be submitted in packaging preventing damage by 20 October to the MDK Organisation Department or sent to:

The ceremonial presentation of diplomas and prizes to the authors of winning and honourable-mention works will take place on 4 November during the opening of the post-competition exhibition at the Old Theatre. Detailed information is available by telephone at 75 644 65 65.
