The incident occurred on Monday, September 19. Behind the seat of Powiat Bolesławiecki at Piłsudskiego Square in Bolesławiec (the so-called Okrąglak), a passerby noticed an artillery shell and notified the Municipal Police. It is not known where the shell came from; perhaps someone left it there.
Police officers, bomb disposal experts, municipal police officers and firefighters are at the scene.

The evacuation of nearby buildings was ordered, including Okrąglak, Bolesławiec City Center gallery, a church, a bank and a restaurant. Screenings at Forum cinema were canceled. Among the streets closed are Bankowa, Kościelna, part of Asnyka and Sierpnia ’80.

As we have established, bomb disposal experts dealt with the unexploded ordnance. They are to transport it to a safe location.
Update – 18:05
The bomb disposal experts took the shell to a training ground. It will be detonated there. The evacuation is over.
